PA Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

Please check out the new and improved PA Youth Advisory Board (YAB) website.  The website is located at  Youth and child welfare professionals alike can find a wide variety of resources and information related to education, life skills, housing, legislation, permanent connections, employment, and many other topics. 
The YAB website was developed in partnership with youth from all over Pennsylvania whose mission is to educate, advocate, and form partnerships to create positive change in the substitute care system.  The PA YAB is divided into six different regions.  Find your region on the ABOUT page and get involved!  Youth ages 14 and over that are currently in care or were formerly in care are encouraged to get involved at their local/regional level.

smileAPPRISE, a health insurance counseling program for senior citizens (age 65 +) has a new coordinator.  It is estimated that there are hundreds of people in Greene County who are paying for Medicare Part D when they don't have to.  Individuals need to check the income eligibility guidelines each year and now extra help is being offered through Medicare's Low Income Subsidy that can save an average of $3900 a year for individuals who qualify.  Call APPRISE staff at 888-300-2704 Ext. 4438
